Voder 2.1.0 lets you ask ChatGPT more questions about your Xero data. Compare like-for-like periods, see which accounts are driving changes in revenue and costs, and review the value of your outstanding quotes.
The examples below show prompts you can use and example responses from ChatGPT based on Xero data retrieved through Voder.
Compare the same part of each financial year
Ask for a Profit and Loss comparison through a specific date. Voder uses the same cutoff date in each financial year and shows the exact periods compared, so a partial year is not mistaken for a full one.
Filter the comparison using the tracking category and option names already in Xero. You can ask for a region, division or other tracked part of the business using the names already familiar from Xero. One short question can produce a like-for-like comparison, the exact periods used and a management subtotal configured for the organisation.
Example prompt: Compare FY2027 P&L through 26 August with last year for our Eastside region.
Called tool
Example response from ChatGPT: FY2027 Profit and Loss — Eastside
For Demo Company (AU), filtered to Region = Eastside, the like-for-like comparison is:
| Profit and Loss | FY2027 YTD | FY2026 comparable |
|---|---|---|
| Exact period | 1 Jul–26 Aug 2026 | 1 Jul–26 Aug 2025 |
| Gross profit | A$2,745 | A$1 |
| Operating expenses | A$10,135 | A$1 |
| Net profit/(loss) | (A$7,390) | A$0 |
| Profit before wages and salaries — calculated by Voder from this organisation’s saved account selection | A$2,610 | A$0 |
FY2027 operating expenses include A$10,000 in Wages and Salaries and A$135 in Motor Vehicle Expenses. The earlier period does not contain comparable wages or motor vehicle expense rows, so those amounts are not presented as reported zeroes.
FY2027 through 26 August is still open and can change as further activity is posted.
See where revenue is moving
Compare revenue by quarter or financial year. ChatGPT shows the total with the Xero accounts behind it, so you can see what changed instead of relying on one headline.
Example prompt: Compare Q2 revenue with Q1.
Called tool
Example response from ChatGPT: Quarterly revenue comparison
Revenue increased by A$5,000, or 5%, in Q2.
| Revenue account | Q2 2026 | Q1 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Sales | A$86,400 | A$79,200 |
| Consulting | A$18,600 | A$20,800 |
| Total revenue | A$105,000 | A$100,000 |
Sales drove the increase, more than offsetting the A$2,200 reduction in consulting revenue.
Understand what is driving costs
Review expenses by month, calendar quarter or financial year, with the account breakdown that makes unusual movements easier to spot.
Example prompt: Show expenses by month, quarter and year.
Called 3 tools
Example response from ChatGPT: Expense trend
Here are the monthly, quarterly and annual expense views:
| Period | Total expenses | Largest accounts |
|---|---|---|
| August 2026 | A$34,200 | Wages A$18,000; rent A$6,000 |
| Q2 2026 | A$96,500 | Wages A$52,000; rent A$18,000 |
| FY2026 | A$382,400 | Wages A$208,000; rent A$72,000 |
August is still open, so its total can change as bills and bank activity are posted.
Understand the value in your quote pipeline
Ask which quotes and estimates are still open. ChatGPT can summarise them by status and currency, then show the individual rows when you need the detail.
Example prompt: Show me our outstanding quotes.
Called tool
Example response from ChatGPT: Outstanding quote pipeline
You have eight open quotes in Australian dollars:
- Draft
- 3 quotes · A$27,500
- Sent
- 5 quotes · A$61,200
- Total

Proposal face values only — these are not receivables, cash or committed revenue.
