Understand your books without changing them

VODER is read-only. It retrieves supported information from your connected organisation without adding, editing or deleting your accounting records. Connect once, then ask about the organisations your VODER account can access.

Your accounting records stay in Xero. Data retrieved for your questions is shared with your AI client to answer them. Read how VODER handles your data.

From the conversation to the invoice

Agreed what to bill? VODER Actions lets you carry that work forward in ChatGPT. Create or update a contact, prepare or correct a draft invoice, approve it, send it and follow up when payment is overdue. Less re-entry. More of the work handled where the conversation happened.

Use VODER to look up previous invoices and pricing, then VODER Actions to prepare the next invoice. Install both to bring reading and invoicing together. VODER Actions currently supports Xero only, with no additional VODER charge.

Your organisation. Your choice.

Actions is optional. Each organisation’s owner chooses whether to enable the complete set of seven actions, and only the owner can use it. Keep VODER read-only if that is all you need.

A complete, authorised draft invoice request creates a Xero DRAFT directly, without a separate confirmation. It does not approve or send the invoice. Draft creation has no duplicate protection: if the result is unclear, check Xero before asking again.

Each of the other six actions shows the proposed effect and waits for your confirmation in ordinary language. Before sending an invoice or reminder, you see the invoice and recipient address.

Turn Actions off for an organisation to remove VODER’s local write permission. This does not undo saved records, and Xero may retain the write permission you granted it. Review or disconnect the app in Xero to remove that permission too. See VODER Actions product news and the records VODER Actions retains.

Connect Xero to ChatGPT

Start with VODER’s published ChatGPT app. Connect your account, choose your Xero organisation and ask a question that matters to your business.

Connect your Xero organisation

1. Sign in to VODER or create your account.
2. Choose Add a new organisation, then Xero.
3. Choose Read only for financial questions and reports. Choose Read, create and update with VODER Actions if you also want to prepare, send and follow up invoices.
4. Sign in to Xero, select the organisation and approve the requested access.
5. Follow the VODER account steps, including a subscription if required. Review VODER pricing for costs and trial eligibility.

Install VODER from the ChatGPT App Store

1. Open VODER in ChatGPT and choose Install plugin.
2. Complete VODER sign-in using the same account that has access to your Xero organisation.
3. Start a chat and select VODER using @, or choose Try in chat from its listing if already installed.
4. Ask: “Use VODER to show my connected organisations, then compare this month’s revenue with last month.”

Add VODER Actions for invoicing

VODER Actions is a separate custom MCP connection. Its App Store submission is under review; use the custom connection below rather than looking for a published Actions listing. It currently supports Xero only.

1. As the organisation’s owner, open your VODER account and the organisation’s Manage page. Choose Add VODER Actions if it is currently read-only. Enable the complete actions set for that organisation. If Xero needs additional permissions, complete the Xero authorisation flow. Cancelling that flow leaves the organisation read-only.
2. Open ChatGPT on the web. If required by your account, enable Developer mode in Settings → Security and login. Your workspace’s permissions and security restrictions must allow custom MCP connections.
3. Open ChatGPT Plugins, select the plus button and choose Add custom MCP server.
4. Enter VODER Actions as the name and https://app.voder.ai/mcp-write as the server URL.
5. Choose OAuth authentication. Leave optional Client ID and Client Secret fields blank so ChatGPT can register the connection.
6. Read the risk warning. If you agree, acknowledge it and choose Create as a plugin. Install the resulting plugin and complete VODER sign-in with the organisation owner’s account.
7. Start a chat and select both VODER and VODER Actions. Ask: “Which of my Xero organisations can I use with VODER Actions?”

Keep VODER installed for reads, including previous invoices, contacts and pricing. Actions does not replace those read tools. If custom MCP setup is unavailable, ask your ChatGPT workspace administrator about access. See OpenAI’s custom MCP connection guide for the current ChatGPT controls.
