VODER Actions beta: from conversation to invoice
Turn the conversation into a Xero invoice, without re-entering the details in another app. Prepare a draft, approve it and send it to your customer. When payment is overdue, follow up from the same conversation.
VODER brings your accounting records into ChatGPT. VODER Actions carries the work forward, creating or updating the customer contact when your invoice needs it.
If you want VODER to stay read-only, do nothing. VODER Actions is optional and has no additional VODER charge.

What you can do
- Create a draft invoice.
- Correct a draft invoice.
- Approve a draft invoice.
- Email an approved invoice to your customer.
- Email an overdue invoice again to chase payment.
- Create or correct the customer contact your invoice needs.
Draft invoice creation happens directly once the required details and permission are present, and repeating it may create another draft.
If the result is uncertain, check Xero before asking again.
Each of the other six actions shows exactly what will change or be sent and waits for your confirmation. Sending and chasing are separate steps: before either email goes out, you see the invoice and recipient address. Repeating one of those six confirmed actions is checked to prevent a second change or email.
Turning VODER Actions on for one Xero organisation
When you connect a Xero organisation, choose either Read only or Read, create and update with VODER Actions. The owner makes one choice for that organisation. Choosing Actions enables all seven contact and invoice actions together; individual actions cannot be switched on separately. You then approve the requested permission in Xero and set up the separate VODER Actions app in ChatGPT.
If your Xero organisation is already connected read-only, its Manage page lets the owner add VODER Actions for that organisation. Your other organisations do not change.
You can turn VODER Actions off for one organisation at any time. That removes VODER’s local permission to write there immediately, but Xero may still retain the permission you granted it. To remove that provider permission too, review or disconnect the app in Xero.
What it cannot do
- It cannot take a payment or move money.
- It cannot create, send or change quotes.
- It cannot delete contacts or invoices, or edit an approved invoice.
- It cannot write to MYOB, QuickBooks Online or FreshBooks.
- It has no read tools for exploring your books. Use VODER for that.
If you want none of this
There is nothing to do. VODER on its own reads your books and changes nothing.
